Charles Landry Frequently Quoted in Media on Recent Rezoning in Ascension Parish
December 27, 2005

Amidst recent media coverage regarding Ascension Parish rezoning issues, Baton Rouge office managing partner Charles Landry was quoted in the following articles in The Advocate:  November 9 – "Growing Ascension Set to Address Land Use,"  November 15 – "Ascension Panel to Discuss New Zoning Categories," November 29 – "Ascension Impact Fee Plan Carves New Districts," and December 3 – "Ascension Adopts Zoning Districts Plan," and, most recently, in the The Ascension Citizen's December 8 article, "Council Gives Nod to New Zoning Districts."  The articles covered the progress of Ascension Parish as it changed its master plan for growth with new land use categories that included planned use development, small planned unit development and traditional neighborhood development.  The Ascension Parish Council voted 9-0 on December 1 to approve the state of the art ordinances to create planned urban developments, small planned urban developments, as well as the traditional neighborhood a developments.  Landry, who co-chairs the firm's real estate and development practice, is the lead Jones Walker member of a consultant team with CSRS Engineers and Fernandez Plans, LLC, that provided land use advice to Ascension Parish. "With the adoption of the ordinances, other parishes in the area can now follow suit," Landry said. "Neighboring parishes were waiting for Ascension Parish to adopt new zoning districts before doing so themselves."
