Charles Landry Quoted in The Advocate on Ascension Parish Land Use
Baton Rouge office managing partner Charles Landry was recently quoted in The Advocate's November 9 article, "Growing Ascension Set to Address Land Use." Ascension Parish is considering changing its master plan as part of a broad revamp of how the parish plans for growth and is offering new land use categories that include planned use development, small planned unit development and traditional neighborhood development. The new proposals would open developers to more public and parish input, but also give developers and the public more certainty about the outcome of their projects. Landry was quoted saying, "the new zoning categories could help developers avoid conflicts created by the parish's broad zoning categories through elimination of objectionable uses" and that "developers would have certainty on the front end that all phases of their projects will have the parish's nod." Ascension Parish officials began deliberating proposals this month to address land use in the rapidly growing parish.
