Landry Spurs Work on Traditional Neighborhood Developments
Jones Walker attorney Charles Landry was recently featured in an article on traditional neighborhood developments ("TND"s) because of his work in writing Lafayette's own TND ordinance.
"A TND ordinance has numerous requirements that are far more substantial than you have in conventional zoning," Landry told The Daily Advertiser. "To be characterized as a TND, you must adhere to minimum standards, and in certain circumstances, there may be additional requirements to get the project approved. The Lafayette ordinance was designed to honor the process that is already in place in terms of planning approval, as well as what is customary in that market."
Landry also prepared TND ordinances for Ascension Parish, the City of Thibodaux, and West Baton Rouge, and he chaired the effort to develop a TND ordinance in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Landry has also played a role in the development of numerous TNDs throughout Louisiana.
