Eisenberg Quoted in South Florida Business Journal
April 21, 2008

Jones Walker special counsel Steven Eisenberg was quoted in the April 14, 2008 edition of the South Florida Business Journal. The article, "New airline could have famous name," follows a TTAB proceeding concerning trademarks belonging to Eastern Air Lines. Eisenberg represents Eastern Air Lines. In 2007, Eastern signed an agreement to sell the company's remaining assets and trademarks to Aviation Capital Partners Group, a company controlled by Edward Wegel. In the TTAB proceeding, Eisenberg wrote: "After a short absence in its long and storied existence, under the leadership of well known aviation businessman Edward Wegel, Eastern Air Lines is preparing to return to the skies where, once again, it will fly passengers throughout the United States and the Western Hemisphere while at the same time recall the early days of commercial aviation and participate in its future." The motion details the planned use of Eastern Air Lines' trademarks by ACPG for domestic and international service for passengers and freight while still allowing Eastern a continuing financial interest in the use of its marks and the success of its purchaser.
