Jimmie Percy is a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group; his practice primarily includes commercial litigation, environmental and utilities regulatory work, and governmental relations. Mr. Percy has represented a major solid and hazardous waste collection and disposal company in connection with its activities in Louisiana. He has handled all regulatory aspects of the company's Louisiana operations, including permitting and enforcement actions, and represented the company in significant litigation involving all of the company's Louisiana activities. He also lobbied the Louisiana Legislature on behalf of the company and helped draft numerous pieces of environmental legislation.
Mr. Percy has also represented numerous clients before the Louisiana Public Service Commission including electric utilities, telecommunication entities, and trucking firms.
He has served as Deputy Director of the Louisiana Municipal Association (1984–1988) and as Special Assistant Parish Attorney for the City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge (1997–2003). Mr. Percy has also served as an adjunct professor at the Southern University Law Center (1995–1996).
