Jeff Evans is a member of the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and securities arbitration and enforcement proceedings.
Mr. Evans brings to Jones Walker years of experience in litigation; he most recently worked as Senior Counsel for The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the largest non-governmental regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States. In his capacity as Senior Counsel, Mr. Evans brought enforcement actions and litigated disciplinary proceedings against securities broker/dealers and individual registered representatives for violations of federal securities laws and FINRA rules.
Prior to his experience at FINRA, Mr. Evans worked for several years as a litigation associate in the Baltimore, Maryland office of a Pennsylvania-based law firm, where he represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters in state and federal court, including a wide variety of commercial disputes. Mr. Evans has also represented numerous securities broker/dealers and individual registered representatives in both litigation and arbitration involving recruiting and raiding issues.
Mr. Evans received his J.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2000, where he graduated with honors and was Assistant Managing Editor of the Journal of Health Care Law and Policy. Mr. Evans graduated from Lander College in South Carolina with a B.S. in Business Management/Marketing in 1992.
