Jay Adams is a partner in the firm's Tax, Trusts & Estates Practice Group. Prior to joining Jones Walker, he was a member of the law firm of Oreck Crighton Adams & Chase where he was a founding member. Mr. Adams has represented clients in matters involving practically every type of state and local tax in a number of states and local jurisdictions. He is a frequent speaker to a variety of professional organizations, including the Institute for Professionals in Taxation and the Tax Executives Institute. He recently prevailed in a landmark Louisiana state tax case, International Paper Company vs. Bridges, in which the Louisiana Supreme Court issued a ruling that will result in refunds and future tax savings of tens of millions of dollars for Louisiana businesses.
